Producción científica de la Revista Cubana de Estomatología. Años 2009-2013: 2009-2013 / Scientific production of the Cuban Journal of Dentistry

RESUMEN

Introducción: los indicadores bibliométricos permiten caracterizar la producción científica de una revista. Objetivo: determinar el comportamiento de la producción científica en la Revista Cubana de Estomatología de los años 2009 hasta 2013. Método: estudio descriptivo y transversal. Seleccionamos todos los artículos publicados en la Revista Cubana de Estomatología en los años 2009 hasta 2013. Variables estudiadas tipo y número de artículos, clasificación temática, actualización de las referencias bibliográficas, autores, países de origen y factor de impacto. Realizamos búsquedas en SciELO Cuba. Se utilizaron como medidas de resumen las frecuencias absolutas y el porcentaje. Resultados: se publicaron 226 artículos; 114 originales, 20 de revisión, 60 presentaciones de casos, 14 de pedagogía e historia y 18 de otras modalidades. Los artículos correspondían a 758 autores. De Cuba 161 artículos, 43 de Brasil, 11 de Colombia, 4 de México, 3 de Chile, 2 de Venezuela, 1 de Argentina y 1 de Perú. De cirugía bucal eran 93 artículos, epidemiología de las enfermedades bucales 87, historia y pedagogía 14, salud comunitaria 11, medicina natural y tradicional 7, otras temáticas 14. El factor de impacto en 2009 fue 0,1795 y en 2013 0,3394. Conclusiones: en los años 2009 hasta 2013 se han publicado un número apreciable de artículos; predominaron los artículos originales y las presentaciones de casos, se destacaron los de autores cubanos y brasileños; las referencias bibliográficas actualizadas y el factor de impacto mostraron una tendencia discretamente ascendente(AU)

ABSTRACT

Introduction: bibliometric indicators allow characterizing the scientific production of a journal. Objective: describe the scientific production of the Cuban Journal of Dentistry from 2009 to 2013. Method: a descriptive, transversal study was conducted. All articles published in the Cuban Journal of Dentistry from 2009 to 2013 were selected. The type and number of papers, thematic, authors and their country of origin, bibliographyc updating, and the impact factor were variables studied. SciELO Cuba was used to obtain the information. The absolute frequencies and the percentage from the descriptive statistics were used. The results obtained were presented in tables and graphs for their better interpretation. Results: 226 papers were published, 114 were original articles, 20 were bibliographic reviews, 60 were report of clinical case, 14 were on pedagogy and history, and 18 on others. There were 758 authors 161 Cuban authors, 43 Brazilian, 11 Colombian, 4 Mexicans, 3 Chileans, 2 Venezuelans, 1 Argentines and 1 Peruvian. 93 articles were on oral surgery, 87 on epidemiology of oral diseases, 14 on history and pedagogy, 11 on community health, 7 on natural and traditional medicine, 14 on other topics. The 2009 impact factor was 0.1795 and 0.3394 in 2013. Conclusions: a significant number of items have been published from 2009 to 2013; there was predominance of original articles and case presentations, the Cuban and Brazilian authors were highlighted; updated references and impact factor discreetly showed a upward trend(AU)
