Caracterização nutricional de nutrizes na segunda etapa do Método Canguru de um Hospital Amigo da Criança / Nutritional characteristics of nursing mothers in the second stage of the method of a Kangaroo baby friendly hospital

RESUMO

Objetivo: caracterizar, nutricionalmente, as nutrizes na 2ª etapa do método canguru de um Hospital Amigo da Criança.Método: o estudo aborda quantitativamente, caráter descritivo e desenvolvimento transversal. As participantesforam 30 nutrizes que acompanharam seus filhos, nos meses de agosto a novembro de 2013, na enfermaria da2ª etapa do Método Canguru de um hospital de referência estadual no método, em Belém/PA. A coleta de dadosocorreu por meio de formulários e abrangeram os seguintes dados: socioeconômicos, antropométricos, consumoalimentar e hídrico. Além do acompanhamento ponderal das nutrizes semanalmente. A metodologia descrita pelasRecomendações de Ingestão Dietética do Instituteof Medicine foi empregada na análise da adequação alimentar.Resultados: os resultados evidenciaram que a maioria das nutrizes possuía nível de ensino médio (73,3%), rendafamiliar de até 1 salário mínimo (56,7%), apenas 1 filho (43.3%); enquanto, 46,7% estavam com sobrepeso naavaliação final; não houve associação significativa entre período de permanência na enfermaria, alterações de peso eÍndice de Massa Corpórea; a dieta consumida pelas nutrizes atendeu as necessidades energéticas; a porcentagem demacronutrientes encontrou-se adequada; porém,o consumo de líquidos e a ingestão de vitamina A encontraram-seabaixo das recomendações, indicando a necessidade de inclusão de alimentos como frutas e verduras, assim comoorientações a cerca da necessidade de hidratar-se. Conclusão: poucas pesquisas avaliam o consumo alimentar denutrizes e não há referências de avaliação nutricional específicas para este estado fisiológico, tornando este trabalhode suma importância, sendo necessário a continuidade e o aprofundamento de mais estudos.

ABSTRACT

Objective: to characterize nutritionally nursing mothers in the 2nd stage of kangaroo care of a Baby Friendly Hospital.Method: the study has a quantitative approach to descriptive and transversal development. The participants were30 nursing mothers who accompanied their children in the months from August to November of 2013, at the wardof the 2ndstage of kangaroo method of a state referral hospital in the method in Belém/PA. Data collection occurredthrough forms, and covered the following data: socioeconomic, anthropometric, food and water consumption. Besidesmonitoring the weight of the mothers weekly. The methodology described by the Dietary Reference IntakesInstituteof Medicinewas employed in the analysis of food adequacy. Results: the results showed that most of the mothershad high school level (73.3%), family income up to 1 minimum wage (56.7%), only one child (43.3 %), while 46.7%were overweight in the final evaluation, there was no significant association between length of stay in the ward,changes in weight and body mass index, diet consumed by nursing mothers met their energy needs, the percentageof macronutrients found to be adequate, but the consumption fluid intake and vitamin A found themselves below therecommendations, indicating the need for inclusion of foods like fruits and vegetables, as well as guidance about theneed to rehydrate.Conclusion: few studies evaluate the dietary intake of lactating women and there are no referencesto specific nutritional assessment for this physiological state, making this work of a great importance.Therefore, morefollowing and deepening studies are needed.
