Representações sociais e meios de comunicação: produção do conhecimento científico em periódicos brasileiros / Social representations and media: scientific knowledge production in Brazilian journals

RESUMO

Trata-se de revisão sistemática de literatura cujo objetivo foi identificar o perfil da produção científica veiculada em artigos brasileiros orientados pela teoria das representações sociais, e que utilizaram como campo de pesquisa a mídia. Os dados foram coletados nos portais virtuais SciELO, LILACS, BVS, CAPES e Google Acadêmico Brasil, no recorte temporal de 2000 a 2011. Adotaram-se como critérios de inclusão textos completos disponíveis em português na versão online, pautados na teoria das representações sociais e destinados à análise da mídia. Ostermos de busca foram "representações sociais" e “mídia”, "representação social" e “mídia” ou "meios de comunicação de massa", nos seguintes campos título, resumo ou no texto completo. A análise dos dados foi realizada com estatística descritiva e análise de conteúdo temática. Osresultados mostraram 54 produções científicas, das quais 23 preenchiam os critérios de inclusão. As produções basearam as suas argumentações em duas linhas 1) A formação e difusão das representações sociais, e 2) A configuração das representações sociais na sociedade. Constatouse que a TRS tem sido empregada para pesquisar especialmente os seguintes objetos corpo, gênero, obesidade, transgênicos e violência. Como conclusão observa-se que existe consenso em relação à importância da análise das comunicações e das representações através da mídia, mesmo que a frequência dos estudos não tenha sido grande quando comparada a produçãogeral orientada pelo quadro teórico adotado...

ABSTRACT

The present study is a systematic review which aimed to identify the profile of the brazilian scientific production published in articles guided by social representations theory, andused as a research field media. Data were collected in virtual portals SciELO, LILACS, BVS, CAPES and Google Scholar Brazil, in the time frame from 2000 to 2011. As inclusion criteria were adopted full text available in Portuguese in the online version, guided by the theory of social representations and for analysis of the media. The search terms were "social representations" and "media," "social representation" and "media" or "mass media", in the following fields title,abstract or full text. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and thematic content analysis. The results showed 54 scientific publications, 23 of which met the inclusion criteria. Productions based their arguments on two lines 1) Training and dissemination of socialrepresentations, and 2) The configuration of social representations in society. It was found that the TRS has been employed to find especially the following objects the body, gender, obesity, transgenics and violence. As a conclusion it is observed that there is consensus on the importance of communication analysis and representations in the media, even if the frequency of the studies was not large when compared to the production-oriented general theoretical framework adopted...
