RESUMO

Conhecer os sentimentos e as expectativas de mulheres após o diagnóstico de câncer de mama. Método: estudo descritivo,com abordagem qualitativa, desenvolvido com sete mulheres a partir de entrevista semi estruturada.Os dados foram analisados pela técnica de análise de conteúdo temática da proposta operativa. Resultados: diante da revelação do diagnóstico, as mulheres revelaram desespero,medo e tristeza. O tratamento representou um período difícil, em que emergiram sentimentos negativos. Algumas participantes manifestaram medo da solidão e da morte. Outras se mostraram otimistas e esperançosas com a cura da doença. Considerações finais sinaliza-se a necessidade deu ma abordagem profissional holística,que não contemple a doença somente em uma perspectiva física, mas também valorize o apoio familiar e considere a mulher e sua família em todas as suas multidimensões...

ABSTRACT

To know women’s feelings and expectations after breast cancer diagnosis. MethOd descriptive study, with a qualitative approach, developed with seven women with the use of a semi-structured interview. The data were analyzed by a thematic content analysis technique of operative proposal. Results after diagnosis disclosure, women show despair, fear and sadness. The treatment was a difficult period when negative feelings emerged. Some participants expressed fear of loneliness and death. Others were optimisticand hopeful with the cure of the disease. Final cOnsideRatiOns the need for a professional holistic approach is highlighted, one that does not see the disease only througha physical perspective, but that also values family supportand considers the woman and her family in all their multidimensions...
