RESUMO
O ruído é diversamente encontrado no contextourbano das grandes cidades, interferindo no cotidiano eincidindo diretamente sobre o bem-estar da população.Objetivo:
Identificar o incômodo decorrente do ruído urbanoem trabalhadores de estabelecimentos comerciais dosarredores de um mercado público, cujas ruas que ocircundam são conhecidamente ruidosas, na cidade de JoãoPessoa. Material eMétodos:
89 trabalhadores (entre 18 e65 anos) de estabelecimentos comerciais dos arredores domercado foram submetidos a um questionário semiestruturadoadaptado de PETIAN (2008). Foi realizada medição de ruídona porta de cada estabelecimento.Resultados:
A intensidadesonora encontrada nos estabelecimentos chegou a 94dB. Oruído mostrou-se o fator mais incômodo aos participantes,com média ponderada de 2,35 e a fonte de ruído que maisincomoda é proveniente dos carros de som (1,45). Dasqueixas auditivas, prevaleceu a referência ao zumbido(38,20%) e, entre as extra-auditivas, cefaleia e estresse(referidas por 66,29%).Conclusões:
O ruído mostrou-se ofator que mais incomoda os comerciantes, especialmente oadvindo dos carros de som. Uma parcela importante detrabalhadores referiu queixas auditivas e extra-auditivas.Desta forma, a adoção de medidas de controle do ruído nestaregião da capital paraibana é premente, a fim de evitar apiora da qualidade de vida dos moradores e trabalhadoresdo local...ABSTRACT
Introduction:
Noise is variously found in the urban context oflarge cities, interfering with daily life and directly with thewelfare of the population.Objective:
To identify the discomfortcaused by urban noise among traders of commercialestablishments located in the surroundings of a public market,whose streets are notoriously noisy, in the city of JoãoPessoa. Material andMethods:
A total of 89 traders (agedbetween 18 and 65 years) of commercial establishmentswere submitted to a semi-structured questionnaire adaptedfrom PETIAN (2008). Noise measurement was performed atthe door of each establishment. The study was approved bythe Research Ethics Committee (CCS, UFPB).Results:
Thesound intensity identified in the establishments reached 94dB.The noise was found to be the greatest cause of discomfortfor participants, with weighted average of 2.35. In addition,the source of noise that bothers the most is that coming fromaudio cars (1.45). Concerning the auditory complaints, therewas prevalence of tinnitus (38.20%) and, among the extraauditoryones, headache and stress predominated (reportedby 66.29% of study subjects).Conclusions:
The noise provedto be the factor that most generates discomfort to the traders,especially that coming from audio cars. A significant proportionof traders reported auditory and extra-auditory complaints.Thus, the adoption of measures for noise control in this regionof the capital of Paraiba state is urgent, in order to avoidworsening the quality of life of residents and workers fromthis area...
