Cotidiano de portadores de doença renal crônica: percepções sobre a doença / The routine of chronic renal disease patients: Their perception regarding the disease

RESUMO

A doença renal crônica é um problema de saúde pública e tem efeito devastador na vida dos sujeitos. Considerando que seu tratamento é prolongado e doloroso, envolve muitas limitações e gera amplas repercussões no cotidiano das pessoas, torna-se crescente a preocupação com a sua qualidade de vida. Objetivos: conhecer a percepção do portador de DRC sobre as repercussões da doença no seu cotidiano. Métodos: de natureza qualitativa, foram abordadas sete pessoas que realizavam hemodiálise no Serviço de Nefrologia do Hospital Universitário da UFMA. Utilizaram-se questionário socioeconômico e entrevista semiestruturada com roteiro de questões abertas. As entrevistas foram gravadas, transcritas e analisadas segundo a técnica de análise de conteúdo. Resultados: diferentes reações ocorreram diante do diagnóstico, como comportamentos de não aceitação e sentimentos de profunda tristeza e angústia. Verificou-se que os pacientes ficam mais suscetíveis a conflitos e instabilidades. Observou-se pouco conhecimento sobre a doença, talvez pelas dificuldades de compreensão e interpretação das orientações fornecidas ou pelo excesso de informações num momento traumático para o paciente. A vida dos portadores de DRC é marcada por ruptura e imposição de severas limitações ao cotidiano, gerando modificações de seus hábitos e estilos de vida/comportamentos, A doença leva muitos pacientes a dificuldades funcionais, afetivas, comportamentais e sociais, Conclusões: a implementação de medidas preventivas, terapêuticas e de educação com enfoque biopsicossocial torna-se fundamental para a saúde e reabilitação do renal crônico...

ABSTRACT

Chronic Renal Disease (CRD) is a public health problem and has a devastating effeect on patients' lives. Since the treatment is long and painful, it creates many limitations and great impact on people's routine, so patients' quality of life becomes a ma- jor concern. Goals Understanding the way a CRD patient perceives the illness impact on his ar her routine. Methods: 7 people under hemodialysis were approached, in a quality manner, at the Federal University Hospital Nephrology Department. It was used a social- economical questionnaire and semi-structured open interviews. The interviews were recorded, transcribed and analyzed according to the Content Analysis Technique. Results: Different reactions occurred during the diagnosis, such as non-acceptance behaviors and deep sadness and anguish feelings. lt was noted that the patients were more susceptible to conflicts and instabilities. It was noted a lack of knowledge about the pathology, uihich may be due to the difficulties in understanding and interpreting the orientalions received ar due 10 lhe excess of information in a traumatic moment for the patient. The CRD patients' lives are marked by disruptions and the imposition of several limitations to their routine, generating changes in their habits and life styles/ behaviors.
