ABSTRACT
The fine structure of the myo-tenden junction is studied in the diaphragm muscle of the rabbit. At the termination of the muscle fiber, the sarcolemma is thrown into a series of clefts and finger-like invagination. The collagen fibrilis of the tendon are sinnous and are inserted obliquely into the outer surface of the basal lamina of the sarcolemma. This structure appears to be related to the mechanism of transmission of tension. Myofibrilis branch over the sarcolemma (AU)n into a series of clefts and finger-like invagination.
