ABSTRACT
Agathis australis gum on acid hydrolysis with sulphuric acid yielded L-arabinose and D-galactose in 14 molar ratio with traces of L-fucose. The components of aldobiouronic acid and glucuronic acid were obtained by graded hydrolysis of degraded gum polysaccharide. The derivatives of aldobiouronic acid was obtained as methyl ester methyl glycoside.
