Dislocation of elbow

ABSTRACT
A consecutive series of 28 patients with dislocation of the elbow treated on the Orthopedic Service of the Rangoon General Hospital is reported. 9 patients whose dislocation was not over three weeks standing were successfully treated by closed reduction. 15 patients were treated with open reduction, 2 with arthroplasty, It is felt open reduction is usually the operation of choice up to 4 months and that closed reduction should not be attempted after three weeks. Details of operation, pathology, post-operative care and end result are given as far as known.
