Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis in Srinagarind Hospital

ABSTRACT

\ Retrospective study of 30 cases with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis who were admitted in Department of Medicine, Srinagarind Hospital during September 1981 to May 1989 was performed.\  Age incidence was range from 34 years to 75 years.\  (mean 53.2  11.9 years), male to female ratio was 2.751. The majority of them were farmer.\  The main presenting symptoms were muscle weakness (63.3%), dysarthria (60.0%) and dysphargia (56.6%). Duration of symptoms prior to admission was range from 1 month to 12 months.\  (mean 7.5  4.0 months)
