Bilateral cataract extraction.

ABSTRACT

Cataract extraction using intracapsular cataract extraction (I-CCE) and extracapsular cataract extraction (E-CCE) with posterior chamber lens implants was perfomed in sucession both eyes of patients having senile cataract. The results of this method in 10 patients (20 eyes) showed that the visual acuity improved to 20 or better in 40% of the eyes, if retinal disorders had been excluded before the operation. Additional advantage of successive cataract extraction in both eyes includes less expense and time to all parties concerned.
