Decompression and Anterior Transposition of Ulnar Nerve in Prevention and Progression of Claw Hand Deformity in Leprosy

ABSTRACT
Leprosy is very common disease in India. It is known for its deformities and social problem associated with it. Our study was aimed to follow that surgical decompression and its anterior transposition of ulnar nerve prevents the progress of claw hand in leprosy. During last 20 years study was conducted at centers mentioned and statistic collected. It was found that all cases which did not responded to drugs or had deformity beforehand did responded to surgery and were made patient comfortable.
