ABSTRACT
Necropsy fat samples from subjects living in Rangoon area have been analyzed by TLC for their DDT, DDE and endrin contents. DDT and DDE were found in all cases; endrin, in excess of 0.2 ppm, was detected in two cases only. There was no significant difference in DDT, DDE or total DDT content in various age groups or between males and females. Levels of these residues were found to be low when compared with those observed in the populations living in Calcutta and Bangkok. This may be due to limited use of DDT and endrin for the control of agricultural pests in Burma.
