ABSTRACT
The aims of the research study on cost effectiveness of malaria surveillance and monitoring measures are presented. The nature of malaria surveillance and monitoring measures and the concept of cost effectiveness are examined. Progress in cost effectiveness analysis is discussed in terms of the interactive approach to a methodology, and the constraints on data collection and analysis. The implications of the study are then considered in terms of malaria control, the development of research capability and the nature of social and economic research.
