Rectal injuries.
Article in English | IMSEAR | ID: sea-43672
ABSTRACT
Rectal injuries were often caused by penetrating injuries and usually occurred in male patients. The results of treatment related to many factors. These factors include the mechanisms of injury, the time from wounding to treatment, the severity of associated injuries, and the operative procedures. The important therapeutic procedures are colostomies, presacral drainage, and rectal irrigation. The type of colostomy and repair of the rectal defect played little significant role concerning the outcome of the patients.
