ABSTRACT
The exact analysis of urinary calculi is very important to study of the etiology of calculus formation, prevention of recurrence and medical treatment. X-ray diffraction method is a newer approach to the analysis of urinary calculi. This method was recommended due to speed, accuracy and convenience. We have analyzed 32 urinary calculi by X-ray diffraction method. The following results were obtained. 1. Mixed calculus ie slight more than single calculus. (11.46) 2. The most common type of calculi is hydroxyapatite + calcium oxalate. (56.3%) 3. In the calcium oxalate. mixed calculi with calcium oxalate monohydrate and calcium oxalate dihydrate are more than pure calcium oxalate monohydrate. (14.5) 4. The common type of calculi in the kidney is calcium oxalate and calcium oxalate + hydroxyapatite in the ureter. 5. Percentage of urinary infection is 37.8% in all patients who have urinary calculi.
