ABSTRACT

The paper describes the concept and general development of competitive intelligence, pointes out that carrying out this kind of service is keeping with the demand of development of library, college and university as well as society. College and university libraries have the advantages in carrying out competitive intelligence service, including abundant literature resources, advanced equipments and qualified talented person. Besides, the paper poiuts out the factors which may restrict the development and puts forward countermeasures.
