ABSTRACT

The USA Standards for Hospital Accreditation have been changed with greater importance attached to the function of hospital library in providing knowledge information service due to the changed medical,information tech-nology and medical treatment environment since its first edition in 1953 with standards for hospital library accreditation included. The history of hospital library accreditation in USA Standards for Hospital Accreditation and its inspira-tions were described in detail in this paper.
