ABSTRACT

Objective:

To observe the clinical effect of piribedil and madopar on Parkinson's disease ( PD) .

Methods:

Totally 58 patients with PD were divided randomly into the treatment group (29 cases) and the control group (29 cases). Piribedil and madopar were used in the treatment group, while only madopar was applied in the control group. Therapeutic effect of both groups was evaluated by UPDRS at the end of 6 courses.

Results:

The decrease of UPDRS after the remedy in the treatment group was more significant than that in the control group (P<0. 05), and the total effective rate in the treatment group(89. 7%) was significantly higher than that in the control group(65. 5%)(P<0. 05).

Conclusion:

The clinical effect of piribedil combined with madopar on PD is superior to that of madopar alone, therefore, the combination use is a useful method in the treatment of PD with the value of popularization and applica-tion.
