Application of Kodama surgery in breast cancer modified radical surgery / 中国医师进修杂志

ABSTRACT
Objective To investigate the application value of Kodama surgery in breast cancer modified radical surgery.Methods Ninety patients with breast cancer modified radical surgery were randomly divided into two groups by stratified sampling method with 45 cases each.Study group was treated with Kodama surgery method.Control group was treated with Patey surgery method.The intraoperative and postoperative conditions were compared between two groups.Results There was no significant difference in the number of lymph node cleaning,intraoperative blood loss between two groups (P > 0.05).The operation time in study group was longer than that in control group [(82.5 ± 13.1) min vs.(66.9 ± 11.2) min];the incidence of postoperative side upper limb disorder,abnormal sensation in study group was lower than that in control group [6.7%(3/45) vs.42.2% (19/45),4.4% (2/45) vs.22.2%(10/45)],and there were significant differences (P < 0.01 or < 0.05).The incidence of light and heavy pectoralis major muscle atrophy in study group was lower than that in control group [4.4%(2/45) vs.31.1%(14/45) and 2.2%(1/45) vs.37.8% (17/45)],and there was significant difference (P <0.01).Conclusion Kodama function nerve preservation surgery in breast cancer modified radical surgery has higher application value.
