Clinical Study on Acupuncture plus Auricular Point Sticking for Insomnia / 针灸推拿医学(英文版)

ABSTRACT

Objective:

To study the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus ear-points pressure for insomnia.

Method:

All 156 cases were randomized into the observation, acupuncture and Chinese herbal formula groups. Combined acupuncture and ear-points pressure, acupuncture alone and Chinese herbal formula were applied in each group respectively.

Result:

The total effective rates of the observation, acupuncture and herbal group were 94.2%, 75.0% and 78.8% respectively. This has indicated that combined acupuncture and Auricular Point Sticking could obtain significantly better effect than the acupuncture group (P<0.01) and the herbal group (P<0.05).

Conclusion:

Combined acupuncture and ear-point pressure can obtain a better effect for treatment of insomnia.
