ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the factors that affecting peer review evaluation for National Science Foundation of China (NSFC) award application.Methods Base on the feedback of NSFC peer review experts,total 10 evaluation factors were extracted for analysis.The percentage of common problem and in application,and percentage of key criteriaconcerned by reviewers,and their effect on funding situation were analyzed.Results 10 evaluatiion factors were divided into 4 groupscore factors including research content and innovation;factors including hypothesis,budget and writing,basic factors including the significance of research and previous study,general factors including experience and capacity of applicants,research team and laboratory condition.Conclusions Analysis and evaluate of peer review factors from different angle may help applicants and administrators to improve the quality of NSFC application and evaluation.
