ABSTRACT
Age over 60 is one of important poor parameters in the prognosis of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). In addition to the physiological characteristics of the elderly, the more important cause is the biological difference between the eldly and the younger leukemia cells. In this article, the clinical and biological characteristics of the elderly AML and the progress of therapy are reviewed.
