ABSTRACT
AIM: To explore the effect of exogenous carbon monoxide (CO) on the hypoxic pulmonary arterial hypertension in the rat. METHODS: 60 rats were randomly divided into 5 groups: Normal group\, hypoxic group\, Hermin group\, Znpp group and CO group. HO-1 activity was examined by spectrophotometer and lung tissues was stained by immunohistochemical method. HO-1 mRNA level was tested by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).
