ABSTRACT

AIM:

To explore clinical significance of the serum changes of neuron-specific enolase (NSE)and S-100 ? protein (S-100 ?) during acute cerebral infarction.

METHODS:

59 acute cerebral infarction patients were classified as total anterior circulation infarcts (TACI), partial anterior circulation infarcts (PACI), lacunar infarcts (LACI) and posterior circulation infarcts (POCI). Their serum NSE and S-100 ? concentrations were determinated by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) during stroke onset 6 d, and compared with 32 controls.
