Omeprazole-induced ADR:Literature Analysis of 96 Cases / 中国药房

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:

To study the condition and the related factors of adverse drug reactions (ADR) occurred in our hospital.

METHODS:

A total of 75 omeprazole-induced ADR reports (96 cases) retrieved from 1996 to Mar. 2007 published in domestic medical journals were analyzed statistically.

RESULTS:

Omeprazole-induced ADR were mostly seen in males aged from 41 to 60, but which was independent of sex. The ADR induced by oral administration usually appeared within 3 days to 2 weeks, while those induced by injection were more often seen at 3~5 min or 3 days later. The ADR might involve multi-organs or systems, and their clinical manifestations were various and complicated, chiefly characterized by allergic reactions and hypolekocytosis, or even allergic shock in severe cases.

CONCLUSION:

ADR induced by omeprazole call for great attention in the clinic.
