ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To observe the clinical efficacy of the combination of traditional Chinese medicine with western medicine in the treatment of recurrent genital herpes and to observe the recurrence rate of this disease.METHODS:A total of 120 patients with recurrent genital herpes were randomly assigned to 3 groupsthe combination group received Chinese herbal medicine plus western medicine Valaciclovir capsule(0.25 g,bid,po for 30 d)and Recombinant human interferon;the western medicine group received Valaciclovir capsule and Recombinant human interferon,while the Chinese herbal medicine group received self-designed Chinese herbal medicine.RESULTS:The clinical efficacy was higher and the recurrence rate was lower in the combination group than in the other two groups(all P
