ABSTRACT
Fourty cases of pathologically proved cardiac carcinoma of the stomach were examined with ultrasonography before operattion. The echographic findings were the metastatic lymph nodes around the gastric left artery, the involving degree of gastric wall and the size of the tumor. These findings were of important in estimating the operability of the tumor. The following features appeared such as (1) the enlarged lymph nodes around the gastric left artery, the tumor mass and the pancrease fused belong together; (2) although no enlarged lymph node was demonstrated, but the sea gull's sign was absent or deformity and (3) the peripheral vessels were involved, then the radical therapy was impossible.
