ABSTRACT
Seven cases of acute leukemia treated by fetal liver transplantation (FLT) are reported in this article. Patients received intensive chemoradiotherapy with cycl-ophosphamide and total body irradiation (TBI), followed by an infusion of fetal liver cells.Hematologic reconstitution occurred in all patients, and temporary chimera developed in 3 patients after FLT. Until the time of analysis, 3 patients remained in complete remission (55, 30 and 20 months), one relapsed but was still alive (6 rronths), and 3 died from relapse or bacterial sepsis (3, 7 and 11 months).
