ABSTRACT

[Objective] To investigate the effect of Chinese medicine combined with improved VAD (vincrstine + adriamycin+ dexamethasone) chemotherapy on quality of life in multiple myeloma. [Methods] Forty eases of multiple myeloma were randomized to two groups group A ( n = 20) was treated with improved VAD chemotherapy; in addition to improved VAD chemotherapy, group B ( re = 20) was also treated with modified Shiquan Dabu Decoction and Buzhong Yiqi Decoction, which had the actions of invigorating Qi, strengthening spleen, nourishing yin, activating blood and removing blood-stasis. The two groups were treated for one course of 24 days and parameters of life quality were observed dynamically.
