An Experimental Study on Hewei Jiangni Decoction in Preventing and Treating Stress Ulcer / 广州中医药大学学报

ABSTRACT

[Objective] To observe the effect of Hewei Jiangni Decoction (HJD) in preventing and treating stress ulcer in rats and to explore its therapeutic mechanism. [Methods] Sixty SD rats were randomized into groups A (model), B (ranitidine 0.05 g/kg), C (HJD 1.25 g/kg), D (HJD 2.5 g/kg) and E (HJD 5.0 g/kg). Rat models of stress ulcer were induced by water-immersion method. Model group was given normal saline and the rats in other groups were medicated by gavage for 5 days. After treatment, effects of HJD on the incidence of stress ulcer, volume and pH value of gastric juice, prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) and nitric oxide (NO) contents in gastric mucosa were detected.
