ABSTRACT
Objective To explore the possible function of islet B cells during heroin dependence period. Methods To use the immunohistochemical SABC method, image analysis and radioimmunoassay(RIA) for observing the changes of immunohistochemical reaction, mean optical density and the insulin level in serum during herion dependence period in rats. Results As compared with normal control group(NCG) and saline control group(SCG),the immunohistochemical raction of islet B cells in heroin dependence group(HDG) increased obviously, and the immunostatining of cells turned more intensive, especially on the 24th day.The results of image analysis showed that the mean optical density of islet B cells in HDG decreased obviously as compared with NCG and SCG(P
