ABSTRACT
The changes in cellular immune function in the patients who had made the long-term blood donation in our department in the period from Sep. 1991 to Mar. 1993, were reported. The cellular immune function of 75 patients who had made blood donation for more than 10 years, was compared with that of 35 patients who made the blood donation for the first time, using the lymphocyte transformation rate, interleukin-2 and natural killer cell activity as cellular immune function indicators. The results of comparision showed that there was no statistical difference between the mentioned above two groups, indicating that the three indicators of cellular immune function in patients who had made the long-term blood donation didn' t show any significant changes, which had no effect on the blood quaity.
