ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE To investigate the incidence of the nosocomial infection in a burn unit of our hospital,(analyze) the correlative factors and explore the approach to reduce the incidence.METHODS Retrospective surveys of nosocomial infection in 720 case patients with burns were carried out in our hospital between 2000-2004.The pathogen analysis and the drug-sensitivity test were done for cases with nosocomial infection.RESULTS There were 466 cases of nosocomial infection from 720 patients with burns.The infection rate was 64.72%,the burn wound infection 62.02%,the respiratory tract infection 19.31%,hematological system infection 10.52%,(urinary) tract infection 6.22%,and the other infection was 1.93%.Seven hundred and two strains were isolated.CONCLUSIONS It is important for nosocomial infection control to have a study on risk factors of postoperative(hospital) infection in the burn unit.
