ABSTRACT
Objective To investigate the nursing service needs of gynecological outpatient undergoing surgery as well as the level of satisfaction.Methods Eighty-eight patients undergoing surgery in the outpatient department of our hospital from March 2011 to September 2012 involved in the survey by a self-designed care service needs and satisfaction scale to investigate their needs for nursing service at pre-,intra-,and post-operation as well as their level of satisfaction with nursing service.Results The total score on nursing service needs was(3.39±0.35),falling between those on the needs and the strong needs.The needs at pre-,intra-, and post-operation were multifold.The total score on satisfaction with nursing service was(3.34±0.48),falling between those on the moderate satisfaction and great satisfaction,among which they were most unsatisfied with waiting longer than 30 mins preoperatively. Conclusions The outpatients for obstetric and gynecological consultation have needs of different aspects and the hospitals can generally meet their needs.The pertinent nursing service should be done based on the preoperative,intraoperative and postoperative needs for care service so as to improve their satisfaction.
