Evaluation the initial results in treatment inguinal hernia by laparoscopic extraperitoneal method

ABSTRACT
This study consisted of 35 patients who had 41 times of inguinal hernia (IH) operated at the Hospital of Pharmacy – Medical College, Ho Chi Minh City from May 2000 to November 2004. All patients were male, aged from 28 to 80. The site and classification of IH were investigated by Nyhus 1991 as followed type II: 3 patients; type IIIa: 11 patients; type IIIb: 19 patients; type IV: 2 patients. 2 patients had old operative scar followed by recurrent IH. 6 patients were used method of spinal anesthesia, the rest of 82.8% patients were used endotracheal anesthesia. The operation time of IH one site and two sites was not significant different. The duration of motor recovery was from 1 to 2 days. The duration of hospitalization was from 1 to 5 days.
