A study on college students' English public speaking anxiety and its related factors / 中华医学教育探索杂志

ABSTRACT

Based on the classroom instruction of the Course of English Public Speaking,this paper discusses about college students'English public speaking anxiety and its related factors. The finding of the study can be summarized as followsCollege students'English public speaking anxiety is generally at the moderately high level,which mainly results from English self-concept,extroversion/introversion,speech components preprarion,situational factor,knowledge accumulation and public speaking experiences. Except for English listening self-conpet,all the other factors have a significantly negative correlation with English public speaking anxiety,among which,self-concept of English speech and speech components preprarion are the two mian variables with a respective predictive value of 51.7% and 16.5% of public speaking anxiety.
