ABSTRACT
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)is one of the most common chronic liver diseases in the world, and it is associated with obesity, hyperlipidemia, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes. Lipid deposition, insulin resistance, and inflammatory response may in-duce NAFLD,but detailed mechanism remains unknown. In - depth studies on the pathogenesis of NAFLD have found that macrophage,oxi-dative stress, and gut microbiota have certain influence on the pathogenesis of NAFLD,and regulation of macrophage polarization and appli-cation of carotenoids and anti - tumor necrosis factor may prevent or delay the progression of NAFLD. This article reviews the research ad-vances in potential therapies for NAFLD.
