ABSTRACT
Objective To investigate the effect of quantified jogging with sports bracelet on sleep quality and fatigue in maintenance hemodialysis patients. Methods The study involved 30 patients treated with maintenance hemodialysis during January and June 2016 in the outpatient's department of the hospital. All the patients were required to take physical exercises by jogging individually for six months, setting up their own quantity by wearing sport bracelets for recording paces and sleep. During the six months, health education and follow-ups were done. The exercise quantity, sleep quality and tiredness were evaluated and compared between pre-and post-intervention. Result All the 30 patients completed the study. After 6 months, the total score by Pittsburgh sleep quality index and the sleep time after intervention were significantly better than those before intervention, respectively, and the score on fatigue after intervention was significantly lower than that before intervention (all P<0.01). Conclusions The quantified jogging with sports bracelet among the hemodialysis patients can significantly alleviate their fatigue and improve the quality of sleep. As an option for the hemodialysis patients, it is worthy of clinical promotion.
