Cases report of autotransplantation of immature teeth

ABSTRACT

autotransplantation of the unerupted third molar after extraction of the hopeless first molar was practiced, but it was tried infrequently because of its low success rate. However, recently, the method is widely recognized as the success rate began to improve enormously with the increase of the biological study about the healing of periodontal ligament. The factors which increase the rate of success in autotransplantation are young age, immaturity of tooth, simple root form, no infection of socket, lesser trauma during operation, etc. The merits of the autotransplantation of immature tooth are as follows Very high possibility of pulpal healing, minimal injury of periodontal ligament during extraction, and no need of endodontic treatment. We report cases of successful autotransplantation of immature teeth which resulted in ideal root development and pulpal healing with literatures review.
