Reflection on the work of nosocomial infection management during the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak / 重庆医学

ABSTRACT
Since the outbreak of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Wuhan, Hubei province, it has spread all across the country. Due to its highly contagious capability with relatively long incubation period and high incidence of susceptibility in the population, it has led to a large number of infected cases. Especially our medical practitioners who are working at the frontline of disease prevention and control. They stay in direct contact with the patients that it can easily lead to the spread of COVID-19 epidemic among doctors and patients and among patients themselves, which will give rise to nosocomial infection outbreaks and paralyze the medical work in departments and hospitals as well. Therefore, strengthening the management of nosocomial infection during the epidemic and improving the prevention and control of the Coronavirus disease has become top priority for departments of hospital infection control in medical institutions. In this article, we mainly introduce current information for COVID-19, prevention training, process designing in hospital, the use of PPE, disinfection and sterilization etc. We hope this will help to further clarify the duties and tasks for departments of infection control.
