Roles of emotions in tumorigenesis and progression / 肿瘤

ABSTRACT
Malignant tumor has become a major public health problem, and it is the leading cause of death in China. Malignant tumor patients are usually accompanied with serious emotional or psychological problems. Epidemiological studies have shown that adverse emotions can affect the occurrence and progression of malignant tumors and the survival time of patients, which leads to the death of cancer patients accounting for about 40% of cancer-related death. As the medical model transforms to bio-psycho-social model, the effects of emotions and psychological factors on the initiation and development of malignant tumors have attracted wide attention in medical field, and cancer has been classified as a kind of psychosomatic disease. This paper reviews the relationship of moods with tumorigenesis, development, prognosis and treatment as well as the underlying mechanisms, in order to remind the cancer patients in tumor therapy should pay attention to the care of emotions, and to prevent disease via psychotherapy.
