A new isoflavonol isolated from Achyranthes aspera / 中草药

ABSTRACT
To study the chemical constituents of Achyranthes aspera.

Methods:

The constituents were separated and purified by silica gel, ODS column chromatography, and recrystallization, and their structures were identified on the basis of physicochemical properties and spectral data.

Results:

Nine compounds were isolated and identified as 5,2’-dimethoxy-6- (methoxymethyl)-7-hydroxy-isoflavonol (1), oleanolic acid (2), oleanolic acid 28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl ester (3), codonolactone (4), 3-formylindole (5), indole-3-carboxylic acid (6), 4-[2-formyl-5-(methoxymethyl)-1H-pyrrol-1-yl] butanoic acid (7), 3-hydroxy- 1-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxy-phenyl)-1-propanone (8), and 2-(2-phenoxyethoxy)-ethanol (9).

Conclusion:

Compound 1 is a new compound named as achyranthesketone A, and compounds 4-9 are isolated from this plant for the first time.
