ABSTRACT
Objective:
To study the chemical constituents from Polygonum multiflorum. Methods:
The constituents were isolated and purified by macroporous adsorbent resin (DM-8), gel chromatography, silica chromatography, and other modern separation methods, and the structures were identified by spectral analyses. Results:
Ten compounds were isolated and identified as thunberginol C 6-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (1), p-hydroxybenzaldehyde (2), trans-N-caffeoyltyramine (3), (Z)-2,3,5,4'-tetrahydroxy-stilbene-2-O-β-D- glucoside (4), (E)-2,3,5,4'-tetrahydroxy-stilbene-2-O-β-D-glucoside (5), pieceid-2″-O-gallate (6), (E)-2,3,5,4'-tetrahydroxystilbene-2-O-β-D-(3″-galloyl)-glucoside (7), tricin-7-O-β-D-glucoside (8), torachrysone-8-O-β-D-glucoside (9), and emodin-8-O-β-D-glucoside (10).Conclusion:
Compound 1 is a new compound named as polygonimitin D. Compounds 3 and 8 are isolated from this plant for the first time.
