ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE:
To study the chemical constituents of the whole herb of Dichrocephala Benthamii C. B. Clarke.METHODS:
The compounds were isolated by column chromatography on silica gel and Sephadex LH-20. Their structures were identified on the basis of spectral analysis and physicochemical characters and confirmed by comparison of their spectral data with those in the literature.RESULTS:
Eighteen compounds were isolated and identified respectively as hexadecanoic acid(1), 1-stearin(2), ethyl-stearate(3), tricosanoic acid(4), tetracosanoic acid(5), octacosane(6), dotriacontanic acid(7), 3, 5-dihydroxy-6, 7, 3′, 4′-tetramethoxy flavone(8), chrysosplenetin B(9), oroxylin A(10), apigenin(11), piceol(12), p-hydroxy benzaldehyde(13), aloe-emod-in(14), chrysophanol(15), physcion(16), xanthoxylin(17), and dibutylphthalate(18).CONCLUSION:
All the compounds were isolated for the first time from this genus except compound 18. Copyright 2012 by the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association.
