ABSTRACT
Sepsis is a life-threatening clinical syndrome characterized by the imbalance of host response to infection, which is one of the main causes of death in children admitted to PICU.In sepsis, the interaction between inflammation and coagulation initiates the coagulation cascade, thus leading to coagulation dysfunction. In fact, blood coagulation dysfunction is involved in the pathological processes of sepsis, and plays a key role in the pathogenesis of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. Therefore, blood coagulation dysfunction is crucial to the occurrence, development and consequence of sepsis. In addition, sepsis-related coagulation dysfunction is not driven by a single pathway.Endothelial cells, platelets and coagulation factors and other risk factors play important roles in the entire process, so it is difficult to achieve good results by treating in a single way. Therefore, this paper reviews pertinent literature about the pathogenesis and clinical test methods of sepsis-related coagulation dysfunction, providing a reference for available and effective treatment and the optimal timing of intervention.
