ABSTRACT

Objective:

To explore the application of problem-based learning (PBL) combined with case-based learning (CBL) teaching mode in the clinical practice teaching of diagnosis and treatment of heart failure.

Methods:

A total of 116 interns doing the internship in the hospital from September 2017 to March 2019 were selected in this study. They were divided into two groups according to the internship time, the control group ( n=63) and the research group ( n=53). The control group adopted traditional teaching, and PBL combined with CBL teaching mode was performed in the research group. The theoretical examination results and practical diagnostic operation scores of the two groups were compared. T-test and chi-square test were performed by SPSS 17.0.

Results:

The results showed that the scores of theoretical examination and practical operation of the interns taught by PBL combined with CBL teaching mode were (87.34±5.69) and (89.58±4.92), respectively, which were significantly higher than those of the traditional teaching mode ( P<0.01); and the teaching satisfaction in the control group was also significantly better than that in the control group.

Conclusion:

PBL combined with CBL teaching mode has a good effect in the practice teaching of heart failure, effectively improve students' interest in learning, and is worthy of further promotion of practices in other cardiovascular diseases.
