ABSTRACT

Objective:

To explore the clinical characteristics of urination disorders in multiple system atrophy (MSA).

Methods:

The clinical data and imaging urodynamic examination of twelve MSA patients with severe urination disorders from June, 2013 to March, 2021 were retrospectively analyzed.

Results:

Among twelve cases, there were eight cases with acontractile detrusor, one case with detrusor overactivity, one case with detrusor-sphincter dyssynergia, one case with filling detrusor hyperactivity and voiding-phase dyssynergia (DO+DSD), and one case with normal urodynamics.

Conclusion:

The clinical symptoms of MSA are complex, and the early diagnosis is difficult. Electrophysiological and MRI examinations can be helpful for diagnosis.
