ABSTRACT
Objective:
To introduce a phased evaluation for severe traumatic brain injury in clinical nursing, to promote catheter removal planning.Methods:
A case of severe traumatic brain injury in our hospital in October, 2018 was reviewed.Results:
This case accepted a phased evaluation about consciousness, condition of tracheotomy and extubation, bladder safety capacity and residual urine volume, and the rehabilitation nursing targeted to the results. After 54 days of treatment and care, all the catheters were removed in a planned way.Conclusion:
The phased evaluation for severe traumatic brain injury may promote the planning of catheter removal, prevent repeated tube placement, and facilitate the recovery of patients.
