ABSTRACT
Pauwels Ⅲ femoral neck fractures in young adults are still challenging in the field of traumatic orthopedics. High risks of nonunion, avascular necrosis of the femoral head and failure of internal fixation can lead to huge social and economic burdens and medical challenges. Therefore, it is necessary for orthopedists to choose the most effective and economic treatment protocols. In recent years, deepening biomechanical research and development of internal fixation instruments have given rise to a series of advances in the treatment of Pauwels Ⅲ femoral neck fractures in young adults all over the world. This review summarizes the principles and current situation in internal fixation of Pauwels Ⅲ femoral neck fracture in young adults, hoping to provide scientific information for those who are concerned in such treatments.
